The path is long and the earth is round
The dripping rain makes a perfect sound
To the magic of your love I am happily bound
And I’ve made your heart my favorite playground!

Pantun is a Malay poetic form. It is originated as a traditional oral form of expression, recited according to a fixed rhythm and as a rule of thumb, in order not to deviate from the rhythm, every line should contain between eight and 12 syllables.  Consist of four-lined verse, roughly rhyming lines. The first and second lines sometimes appear completely disconnected in meaning from the third and fourth, but there is almost invariably a link of some sort. Whether it be a mere association of ideas, or of feeling, expressed throughassonance or through the faintest nuance of a thought, it is nearly always traceable.

It’s widely popular in Indonesia. If Japanese people has Haiku,  a Japanese poetic form; Indonesia has Pantun.  If you are Russian, you will know Pantun in form of Chastuska. Chastuska is used for political satire or jokes but pantun is used to express love. By the time, pantun is used in widely theme such as joke, advice, politic and etc.

You Said these Were True

Your story of the divinity was spellbinding

Your reflection on the mysticism was unrivalled

The young and the old, the blacks and the whites

Are obeisance before you

Some say you could even

perform magical and divine revelations

I stood in the crowds with no doubts,

listening intently to you.

You said that the believers are sinless

And the non-believers are sinners;

That paradise is for he who lives with innocence

And that hell is for he who lives a wayward past

You said these were true

But the course of the world

And the intangibility of the invisible lives

Both have proven otherwise

Too many of the believers  committed wrongdoings

And too many of the non-believers are innocent

You’d better think twice of the truth of your claims

I have eyes to see, ears to hear, skin to touch,

And reason to prove it myself,

I don’t think God is happy with your claims.

“A child doesn’t need a beat or rhythm to sing a song.
They are each born with a mystical sense of music,
and interpretation of self.”
From her mouth so innocent
comes forth a song….
A song like none other.
She lifts her head to the heavens
singing of the angles above.
She sings of the butterflies tickling her nose,
and the soft grass under her feet.
She sings tales of woodland creatures
and how she dreams to run with them.
Her voice carries with it the harmony of the winds,
and the beauty of the rainbows.
As if having wings of her own she glides
across the field of tall green grass,
and dances with her sweet melody.
Her song is carried by the wind,
in hopes of reaching a tired soul in need of strength.
Hearing the delicate song of a child,
brings great peace and serenity to all that will listen.
May her song lift your spirits
and soothe your trouble soul
