Outside the Door

In black and white, doodles, sketch on March 11, 2012 at 7:31 pm

What is behind the hill? Maybe we can find a chocolate island there. Can we go there and get back to home before Mummy go home? This sunny weather is too perfect for our adventure!

Actually I want to draw a kind of drawing with the touch of Gorsline, a prominent illustrator in Random House. His illustration always detail, and even too detail for children book. Just like C.S. Lewis, he believe that

“A children’s story that can only be

enjoyed by children is not a good

children’s story in the slightest”

Maybe I will finish my Gorsline illustration someday, perhaps. I am running out of watercolor pencils and still stuck with sucks scanner here. This simply 3 minutes drawing, I hope it can bring back your childhood memories. Have you ever looking out of the door like that? 😉

  1. Love this drawing! the post is very poetic…!x

  2. thank you Parisiansilhouette,

I hope it can bring back your childhood memories, nice to see you popping here 😀

  3. I love this picture.. every picture generates much possibilites meaning in our mind… for me, see the picture like looking at the surface of a small simple untouchable basin.. much possiblity events, creatures, lives that correspond with the roadmap of passion of knowing and journey migh take place behind the surface.. Like the boundary line between two systems.. System where the elements of the system will be dominantly controlled and governed by human power n rules and an unlimited system where the elements of the system including human feeling will be dominantly controlled and governed by nature…The system where every children can more freely and individually express their imagination and liberty and the system where every child should express their passion in any social direction..

  4. This is beautiful. I love it!! 😀

  5. […] a second series of my previous drawing, Outside the Door. If I make the 3rd, 4th, and etc., the compilation will be a children book, hahahahaha. I promise […]

  6. All three of these are great, entertaining and funny.
    Excellent writing.
    Nice combo.

  7. thank you timruane24 🙂
